Condition Surveys, Defect Diagnosis & Building Pathology
We carry out specialist inspections to a range of heritage assets and construction types, including stone, brick, render, timber-framed and earth construction.
In doing so, we complement our acquired knowledge and experience with the use of modern surveying techniques such as microwave and carbide meters, high-level camera poles, thermal imaging technology and, where legal, the use of a drone.
Our reports are bespoke to the asset, make positive observations and recommendations and are concise – as we are very aware of the tendency for surveyors to vacillate.
They include detailed, annotated, high-resolution photography or drawings and – depending on the type of survey – make specific comments on defects, causes and recommendations along with information on upkeep and maintenance.
Our survey packages include, but are not limited to:
- Listed building and HomeBuyer surveys (levels 1, 2 and 3)
- Structural surveys
- Timber and damp surveys
- Timber frame surveys
- Quinquennial and church surveys
- Drone surveys
Details of what is included at each level of our listed building or HomeBuyer surveys can be found here.
Due to the bespoke nature of historic buildings and structures, and inconsistencies surrounding size and condition, we are unable to offer a pre-defined price structure.
